In iOS 18, the Fitness app see many changes and new features on iPhones.

Explore the New Fitness Tab

In iOS 18, the Fitness tab in the Fitness app has been redesigned. There are now tabs at the top: For You, Explore, Library, and Search. For You presents personalized workouts, and the option to search workouts is new. Apple Fitness requires a paid subscription.

Edit the Summary Screen

In iOS 18, you can now edit the Summary screen to add and remove elements as you see fit (except for Activity Rings):

  1. Open Fitness to the Summary screen.
  2. Scroll down and tap Add Summary.
  3. The Summary screen enters “jiggle mode.” Here you can:
    • Touch, hold, and drag around elements to rearrange them.
    • Tap the delete button on an element to remove it.
    • Tap Add to see a menu of things you can add to the Summary, including data from third-party fitness apps.
  4. Tap Done when finished.

Customize Activity Rings

In iOS 18, you can now adjust goals and even pause your Activity Rings for a time. Open Fitness and tap Activity Rings on the Summary screen.

You can tap Change Goals to change your daily Move goal. On that screen, you can tap Schedule in the upper-right corner to set individual goals for each day of the week.

Also, on the Activity Rings screen, you can tap Pause Rings for the day, the rest of the week, or the rest of the month, or set a custom time.

View Training Load

Training Load is a new Fitness metric that tallies up the intensity of your daily workouts. You can view it by tapping See All Categories > Training Load on the Summary screen.

Freeform

You can now make scenes in Freeform. Think of a scene like a bookmark that lets you instantly zip back to a certain spot and zoom level on the board. This is especially handy for large boards with distinct sections.

To make a scene on an iPhone:

  1. Open a Freeform board.
  2. Scroll and zoom in on the area you want to capture as a scene.
  3. On an iPhone, tap the more button and choose Add Scene from the menu. On an iPad, tap the Scene button in the lower-left corner of the screen, tap the menu icon, and tap Add Scene.

After adding a scene, the Scene Navigator appears on the screen. Tap the arrows to navigate between scenes or tap the menu icon to reveal a menu of scenes. To hide or show the Scene Navigator on an iPhone, tap the more button and select Scene Navigator.
