WWDC 2026
Apple's annual Worldwide Developers Conference will take place June 8–12, 2026
WWDC 2026 Overview
Apple’s 37th annual Worldwide Developers Conference will take place from June 8 to June 12, 2026. It will kick off with a keynote event the morning of Monday, June 8.
Like WWDC 2025, WWDC 2026 will be a hybrid event. Apple will hold WWDC primarily online, allowing developers around the world to attend sessions and meet with Apple engineers at no cost. Apple no longer does a multi-day in-person paid event, but it does invite select developers and students to the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California.
The Worldwide Developers Conference gives developers and Apple fans a first look at new versions of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS. Developers can attend engineering sessions and one-on-one labs and participate in the Apple Developer Forums, all to learn how to integrate the new OS features into their apps.
WWDC 2026 will begin with a keynote event where Apple will walk through all of the new software features. This year, we’re expecting iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, tvOS 27, watchOS 27, and visionOS 27.
Apple sometimes unveils new hardware, so there is a possibility that we could see new Macs introduced at the event.
Apple pre-records the WWDC keynote and streams it on Apple.com, the Apple Developer app, the Apple Developer website, the Apple TV, and YouTube.
Software Announcements
Software is the main focus at WWDC, and we’ve heard several rumors about what we can expect in iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27. Apple is planning to debut the updated version of Siri in the 27 series software.
Here are the highlights of what to expect:
- Smarter Siri – The Apple Intelligence Siri features promised for iOS 18 are supposed to finally come in iOS 27, so Siri could get much smarter. Apple is adding personal context, the ability for Siri to see what’s on the screen, and options for Siri to do more in and between apps.
- Chatbot Siri – There’s also going to be a full chatbot version of Siri that works similarly to Claude or ChatGPT.
- iPhone Fold optimizations – The iPhone Fold will have an all-new form factor, and it will support side-by-side apps and new sidebars. Apple will undoubtedly wait to unveil this aspect of iOS 27 until the iPhone Fold introduction in September.
- Liquid Glass – We could see some adjustments to the Liquid Glass design aesthetic in iOS 27.
- Performance and Stability – iOS 27 could be a “Snow Leopard” update with a focus on improving underlying performance and quality. Apple is cleaning up iOS code and removing what’s outdated, which could lead to improved performance and less battery consumption.
We don’t often hear much about updates beyond iOS, but some of the iOS 27 features will extend to other platforms. macOS 27 is also expected to get the same code overhaul for performance improvements.
